Abstract
The chosen folklore tradition for the website is an examination and viewing of traditional Easter celebrations by those in both Czechia and America. It will look into the most prominent traditions, with an emphasis on the extravagant decorating of Easter eggs called, Kraslice. It will look at why these traditions are important to the people that choose to celebrate them, and examine how these traditions have been passed down through generations from their creation. There will be both text based analysis and photographs from professional Kraslice decorators to add a visual element to the appreciation of these traditions. This website will delve into several research questions, such as why this tradition is important, who celebrates it, where and when it is celebrated, and the aesthetics that go into the celebrations and how it works to connect people to their cultural identities.
